Privacy Policy

suttermansion.com runs Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies: it stores nothing on your device and builds no profile of you across sites. What it records is the page requested, the site you arrived from, and a general sense of country and device type. We set no marketing or tracking cookies. Browsing this site does not add you to any list or database we control. The only information we receive is what you choose to send us through the event inquiry form on our event spaces page, described in the next clause.

Our hosting provider automatically logs standard technical information for every visitor (IP address, browser type, and the pages requested), the way essentially every website on the internet does. We do not use these logs for marketing and do not sell them.

If you call, email or message us on WhatsApp, we receive whatever information you choose to share: typically your name, contact details, and the details of your question or stay. We use this only to respond to you and, if you're a guest, to help with your reservation.

The event spaces page carries an inquiry form. It asks for your name and email address, optionally a telephone number, and the details of the event you are planning: the type of occasion, your preferred dates, an approximate number of guests, the spaces you are interested in, and anything else you would like us to know. We ask you to tick a box confirming you are happy for us to use these details to reply, and that is the only thing that box does: it does not sign you up to anything, and there is no marketing list attached to it.

What you send is delivered to us by email through FormSubmit, a form-forwarding service, which processes it in order to pass it on and retains a copy for thirty days. It is not shared with any advertising network or data broker, and it is not added to a mailing list. Nothing loads from FormSubmit, or from anyone else, unless and until you press Send. The form uses a hidden field to catch automated submissions rather than a captcha, which is what keeps that true.

When you check availability or book a room, you leave suttermansion.com and complete your reservation on Cloudbeds' own site. Cloudbeds collects your name, contact information and payment details directly, and processes that information under its own privacy policy and security practices. We don't see or store your payment details ourselves.

The dates you select are passed to Cloudbeds as part of the link so your search carries over; no other information about you is sent.

suttermansion.com sets no cookies of its own. Our analytics is deliberately of the cookieless kind for that reason: it stores nothing on your device, which is why you are not met by a consent banner on arrival. If that ever changes, this policy and a consent notice will be updated before the cookies are added, not after.

There are two maps on this site and neither one loads until you ask it to. The map on Getting Here is our own drawing and loads nothing from anyone else. The map in the room guide is Google's, and it is not there until you press Open the map. Pressing that, and only pressing that, loads Google Maps, which sets Google's own cookies in your browser under Google's privacy policy, not ours. Nothing reaches Google before you press it, which is why this site asks you there rather than with a banner on arrival. If you do press it, your browser remembers that you agreed, so the map opens directly the next time you visit that page; the note is stored by this site alone, contains nothing that identifies you, and clearing your browsing data removes it. On that map you can also choose Follow along, which asks your browser for your location to show a moving dot on the way to a place. We never receive your location. It stays on your device to draw the dot, except that if you are not at the house when you start, it is sent to Google once to draw the route from where you are. It stops when you stop following, choose another place or leave the page.

The 3D tour on Event Spaces is the one exception. It is Matterport's viewer, and it may set Matterport's own cookies in your browser under Matterport's privacy policy, not ours. If you are visiting from the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, nothing loads from Matterport until you choose Allow, or press Start the 3D tour. Everywhere else it loads as you scroll down that page, and a short notice there tells you so. We work out which applies from the country your connection comes from, which our host reports with each request; we do not store it. Your browser remembers your answer or that you have seen the notice, so you are not asked on every visit; that note is stored by this site alone, contains nothing that identifies you, and clearing your browsing data removes it. No other page on this site loads Matterport.

Information you send us directly (a call, an email, a WhatsApp message) is kept only as long as needed to answer you or fulfill your reservation, and is not shared with anyone outside Sutter Mansion except where the law requires it.

You can ask us at any time what information we hold about you from a direct communication, and ask us to correct or delete it. Contact the phone number or email address below to make that request.

We may update this policy as the site or how we operate changes. The date above reflects the version currently in effect.
